Our specialist physiotherapist is a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists (FACP).
Tom McMillan is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and a recognised leader in the physiotherapy profession. Tom provides expert and specialist clinical services. He reviews, assesses and provides management plans for patients with complex conditions. His referrers include physiotherapists, general practitioners and specialist doctors. He can also provide expert opinions and counsel to motor vehicle (CTP) and WorkCover insurers, as well as providing medicolegal assessments.

Tom provides GPs and other medial referrers with an alternative opinion or review of a patient diagnosis, prognosis, case management and care needs.
A specialist physiotherapist has successfully completed a fellowship with the Australian College of Physiotherapists (FACP) which is similar to the medical specialisation model. It is the highest clinical qualification for physiotherapists in Australia and indeed in the world.
Our specialist physiotherapists can assist with assessment of complex cases where:
- Cases are not progressing or patients have not responded as expected to standard treatment
- The referrer is uncertain of the patients diagnosis or prognosis
- A second opinion is needed or an alternative direction for case management
- A comprehensive review/analysis of all management options is required
- Clinical services such as triage or pre-surgical assessments are required
WorkCover and Compensable Patients.
Tom is experienced in the assessment and management of work related injuries and can provide independent peer reviews of physiotherapy management and of patient conditions. Tom will often liaise with the treating physiotherapist to discuss options and develop an agreed management approach.
If a treating physiotherapist who is concerned about a worker’s progress or any other issue with which you feel you need some assistance, then an opinion by a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist may assist you with your patient’s management.
Motor Vehicle Accidents (CTP) Assessments
Tom McMillan can provide high quality, detailed assessments for claimants injured in motor vehicle accidents. Our independent assessments and recommendations for management follow available best practice, evidence based practice and clinical guidelines.
Tom is happy to liaise with treating practitioners at the direction of the CTP insurer. Tom can recommend alternate practitioners if the current treatment is not achieving the outcomes expected.
